Keep moving forward.
I went for a hike this weekend to one of my favorite alpine lakes in the Pacific Northwest. The trip reports on AllTrails said the trail was a bit muddy and with “snow just at the top.” My hiking group and I thought regular hiking boots and some layers should suffice.
Only, the trip reports weren’t totally accurate. About a third of the way into the hike, we walked into a rocky cliffside with lots of snow and ice. It was tricky. We collectively slipped or fell about seven times. Despite all this, we kept going. We eventually made it to the top, where we were all rewarded with stunning views.
The hiking experience reminded me that, like navigating that difficult terrain, life's challenges can show up unexpectedly. Yet, it usually also leads to growth and beauty. It also happens to be a lot better with good friends by your side.
Wherever you are on your path, just keep moving forward. It’s worth it.
